Six hundred and fifty four words and DeHaven is once again back in the train station.

word counting…
Six hundred words last night when I finally was able to sit down and write for a few minutes. It’s skeletal and I’m trying to get back to my original voice before I read all those how to write books, but the story is once again developing.
600 words.

standing in the hall…
I’ve not been writing here as much as I have been writing in my own little world. And though I keep setting goals for myself, life gets in the way of the small ones.
I think almost every day about setting word count goals and idea goals, prompt goals and so forth. But in the end, writing when it strikes me is the only goal I have at the moment. Soon I hope to devote full time to my stories, but at the moment there seem to be complications coming in from all sides, and lucky for me, I have the ability to give them my time.
But, I have been writing. I’ve been working over my short stories and searching for places to submit, I’ve been working diligently on Fall into Shadow, the modern version, and I’ve finally gotten past the huge brick wall keeping me from continuing Back into the Sand.
So, goal met. I wrote yesterday, I’m writing today, and I will write tomorrow. Goal. Met.

actively dying needs prompts…
Yup, another prompt.
The three of us had been discussing the most memorable way to die when a demon in blue strolled into my bar.
I love prompts. Different people read them completely differently. They take things I see and see something I’d never thought of. I need to start a writing circle…

prompt, prompt, prompt…
I should really start writing to all these prompts…
Caroline dug through the contents of her worn leather purse and gave him the last six dollars and forty five cents she had left.
For now, I’ll keep them safe and remembered while I wind DeHaven through his journey.

BitS new wordcount…
Back into the Sand has more words this night.

10k before the end of the month for sure.

DeHaven…
Last night, Christopher Scott DeHaven continued his journey through hell. It was nice to finally get past the block I’ve had for the past weeks, but I’m still writing very skeletal. I read too many writing books, had too many concussions, and have let my skills wither a bit.
But. I’m writing.
Happy day.

another prompt, I need to find my stride…
One bright day, a tall man died along side the abandoned train tracks.
I need to find my stride again. I used to write story after story so easily. Now they’re all laying like shards of brightly colored broken glass at the bottom of a cardboard box.
I need to find my stride.
And sort.

skeletal beasts…
I woke up on an empty train traveling across wide snow swept fields marred only by the skeletal remains of sleeping beasts.
Actively Dying always swoops in just as I’m feeling at my least creative and gives me a little nudge. I should really keep up with writing these prompts. They’re gold when it comes to getting my rusted up wheels spinning again. Thanks AD.
